Prerequisites:
A Milesight UR3x, UR7x router
A SIM card in the router
The router connected to a PC with an Ethernet cable
Configure the PC network so that you can access the router management interface.
Go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center
Click on the name of the connection (here in the example, “Ethernet” )
Click on Internet connection and “Properties”
Once in Properties, select the line “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” and click on “Properties” again.
Configure the connection as above.
IP Address : 192.168.1.20 (this will be your PC address)
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 (it is automatically entered)
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (this is the router address)
Preferred DNS server : 192.168.1.1 (we put the router address back)
Click “OK” and then “Close” on the previous window.
ATTENTION: Once the router configuration is complete, you will need to go back to the IPv4 properties and select “Obtain an IP address automatically” and “Obtain DNS server addresses automatically”
Access the router's web interface
The router interface can now be accessed by opening a browser and typing: 192.168.1.1
The default logins are: “admin” and “password”
When you first log in, you will be asked to change the default password. It is recommended to make the change. You will need to enter “password” in the “Old Password” field and enter your new password below.
If you change your password, you will be redirected to the login page, you will need to log in again.
Setting the date and time
To avoid possible connection problems, it is advisable to switch the router to the correct time zone.
To do this, simply go to “General Settings” -> System Time” and select “France (Nice, Paris)” in the “Time zone” drop-down list.
Don’t forget to click “Save” and “Apply”
Setting up the 4G connection
In the menu “Network”->”Interface”->”Cellular”
Fill in your SIM card information.
Please note:
- your access provider's APN
- SIM card pin code (PIN code)
- the phone number of the sim card (Access Number)

Once the information has been entered, you must press the “Save” button at the bottom of the page and the “Apply” button at the top right.
After a few minutes, you will see the connection status in “Status” -> “Cellular”.
From now on, if the 4G connection works, once plugged in electrically the router will be connected to the internet in 4G (if coverage allows).
