The LoRaWan or Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) network is a long-range wireless network ( LO ng RA nge) which has been designed for applications that consume little data; for example to connect everyday objects (such as temperature, humidity, opening sensors, lighting, cameras, etc.). Transmitters and receivers can communicate wirelessly over a certain distance (2 km in town and 15 km in the countryside). They are therefore perfect for meeting the needs of smart office and smart city installations .
The LoRaWan network is still little used in France, but should experience significant growth in the years to come. This is also the case in all major cities in the world: Paris, New York, Moscow and Hong Kong.
Sparwan makes it easier for you to install such a network thanks to Milesight solutions.
The LoRaWan network: sensors and gateways
Thanks to Milesight solutions, it is possible to interconnect connected objects with a data management system. The Lorawan protocol used by the gateways allows data from LoRa sensors to be transmitted over a traditional network.
You will be able to control the opening of a door, check the environment, the air quality of a meeting room and trigger a ventilation system accordingly. In short, you will be able to improve decision-making and explore the potential of the intelligent workspace.
Milesight sensors and peripherals
Sparwan offers several Milesight sensors: door or window opening sensors, air quality sensors (C02, fine particles, etc.), controllable smart sockets, presence sensors. All in LoRaWan.
Milesight gateways
To monitor this data, gateways are needed which allow the information to be collected and retransmitted over a traditional network.
Sparwan offers several Milesight gateways depending on your needs.
The UG67 version for outdoor installation, the UG65 version for installation in a technical room or technical cabinet and the UG63 version for installation in offices or coworking spaces.
These gateways can be configured alone or in a fleet depending on the topology and constraints of the site to be covered.
LoRaWan network: data management solutions and IoT platforms
IoT platforms and sensor data management are important building blocks to guide the deployment of an IoT project.
All data collected must be able to be consulted and the devices monitored.
Either you have a data management platform or an IoT platform and you will be able to link the Milesight sensors/gateway to said platform, or you choose to use the Milesight IoT platform.
Dashboard example: Sparwan desktop.
IoT platforms supported by our LoRaWan gateways
Milesight sensors and peripherals can be linked to the following platforms (non-exhaustive list):
-
Ubidots via TTI
-
Akenza Core via TTNv3
-
Tago via TTNv3
-
ThingSpeak via TTN v3
If you don't have an IoT platform already configured, Milesight offers a cloud-based solution hosted in Europe.
Milesight IoT Cloud
Milesight IoT Cloud delivers unparalleled levels of vertical integration with Milesight LoRaWAN sensors and controllers. It visualizes field data and allows the user to monitor and control resources remotely on an intuitive dashboard.
