Status report and needs
This is a project in Singapore, to monitor the electricity consumption of a multi-storey building, with granular data at each floor and room level.
Our main objective is to provide our customers with innovative solutions that promote energy efficiency and optimize operational processes.
What was the challenge?
1. Scalability
Managing a large number of UC300 LoRa controllers and UG65 gateways across multiple floors and rooms required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure seamless communication and data transfer.
2. Data integration
Integrating data from many devices into a centralized platform posed a challenge in terms of data synchronization, aggregation and visualization.
3. Network coverage
Ensuring consistent LoRa network coverage throughout the building was essential to capture accurate energy consumption data from all UC300 controllers.
Overcoming potential signal interference or blind spots required careful placement and optimization of the UG65 gateways.
Our recommendation included deploying UC300 LoRa controllers throughout the premises. The addition of WS523 portable outlets also improved our ability to monitor power consumption at the device level.
To ensure seamless data transmission, we installed 30 UG65 gateways as communication hubs within the network. These gateways securely relayed information to our cloud-based management platform, where advanced analytics were performed to gain valuable insights into energy consumption patterns.
