Context
For a biological laboratory, monitoring the temperature of the refrigerators in which samples are stored is strategic. It must be ensured that temperatures can be recorded even during power outages.
The problems encountered for this application are:
- Measuring temperatures down to -80°C in fridges
- Viewing a history of recorded temperatures
- Being able to continue to monitor temperatures and be alerted in the event of a power outage (3h)
- Have a tool to view and receive alerts if set thresholds are exceeded.
- Supervise the environment of an office located in the same building
- Avoid recurring costs
List of equipment used
- A Lorawan UG65 gateway with 4G backhaul
- An EATON inverter (4W - 3 hours of autonomy)
- An AM103 CO2 sensor
- An EM300 temperature sensor
- A Lorawan connected socket
- EM500-PT100 sensor -200 - 50°C
- EM500-PT100 sensor -50 - 200°C

Milesight IOT - Cloud
Milesight IOT cloud monitoring solution
Milesight IoT cloud is a turnkey monitoring solution that allows you to easily generate dashboards and configure alerts. This solution also has a mobile application, so you can be notified at any time.
For this application, all sensor data reported by the gateway is processed on the Milesight IOT Cloud.
Alert configuration:
-
Temperature threshold exceeded alert
-
Power failure alert (connected socket)
Example of dashboard 1: Monitoring room 1 temperatures Dashboard example 2: Supervision of refrigerators
A complete and scalable solution
Once the first deployment has been completed, it is possible to simply upgrade your infrastructure to add sensors, or even other sites to supervise.
