Description
Description
The Dragino WSC2-L LoRaWAN RS485 Weather Station Transmitter is a central component of your weather station. It allows you to connect various weather sensors, such as the Dragino WSS-09 sensor and the WSS-08 optical rain gauge , and transmits the collected data via the LoRaWAN network. Operating on the 868 MHz frequency, this transmitter is designed for environments requiring accurate weather measurements. Thanks to its RS485 interface, it offers easy integration of different sensors.
To operate the station, an external 12V power supply is required, which can be provided by a power source or a solar module accompanied by a lead-acid battery and an MPPT solar controller. The MPPT controller optimizes the efficiency of the solar module, while the lead-acid battery ensures continuous operation even in low light or at night. The transmitter is also equipped with a built-in 1000mAh backup battery, which takes over in the event of an external power failure, but this battery only supports the transmitter and not the sensors.
With a rugged IP66-rated enclosure, the WSC2-L is protected against adverse environmental conditions, providing increased durability. It also features integrated Bluetooth and allows for remote firmware updates, making setup and maintenance easier.
Each sensor comes with unique keys for registration on the LoRaWAN network. These keys, once registered on the local server, allow the sensor to connect automatically upon power-up, provided there is available network coverage.
