Radar Fall Detection

The Milesight VS373 is a fall detection sensor based on millimeter-wave radar. It provides contactless human detection using point cloud data and can generate fall alarms. This approach allows for continuous monitoring without image capture, with privacy protection suitable for sensitive environments. The product is designed as an auxiliary monitoring tool and does not replace human presence or personal assistance.

Use Cases in Care Environments

The VS373 is intended for spaces where a risk of falling needs to be monitored, particularly living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hospital wards, and nursing homes. It supports presence detection, bed occupancy detection, and immobility detection. Its operation does not depend on visible light, allowing for day and night use, including in rooms where a camera would not be desirable.

Supervision and Alert Reporting

Thanks to LoRaWAN connectivity and the Milesight D2D protocol, the sensor can be integrated with a Milesight LoRaWAN gateway and the Milesight Development Platform for remote data management. Alarms can be signaled locally by buzzer and LED indicator, then reported to the supervision system. This integration facilitates notification of relevant teams and contributes to a more structured handling of field alerts.
