LPS8N - Indoor LoRaWAN Gateway - Dragino
Open-source LoRaWAN indoor gateway based on OpenWrt
The Dragino LPS8N is an indoor LoRaWAN gateway designed for integration and experimentation. It is based on OpenWrt and is aimed at projects requiring a flexible, manageable gateway compatible with common LoRaWAN transmission modes.
LoRaWAN Architecture
The LPS8N is described by Dragino as having 10 programmable parallel demodulation paths. It is therefore preferable to maintain this phrasing rather than presenting it as a conventional "8-channel" gateway.
Network Connectivity
This standard version is without 4G backhaul. It features a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, a USB Host port, and USB-C 5 V / 2 A power supply.
Protocols and Administration
The gateway supports LoRaWAN integration modes such as Semtech Packet Forwarder and LoRaWAN Station. Its OpenWrt environment also allows administration via network tools like SSH and compatible services depending on the configuration.
Applications
The LPS8N is suitable for LoRaWAN testing, IoT labs, small indoor installations, demonstrators, prototyping, sensor monitoring, and projects requiring a configurable gateway.
