The Milesight EG71 is a multiprotocol Edge IoT gateway designed for smart building projects, local automation, and field integration. Unlike a simple LoRaWAN gateway, it combines multiple interfaces and protocols to connect sensors, building equipment, and third-party systems.

IoT and Field Connectivity

The EG71 integrates LoRaWAN, 4G LTE Cat 1, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It also features field interfaces such as RS485, KNX, universal inputs/outputs, analog outputs, and relays depending on the product configuration.

BMS Protocols and Integration

The gateway supports protocols useful for connected buildings and industrial integration, including Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, HTTP, and HTTPS. It can serve as a convergence point between field equipment and a cloud platform or local supervision system.

Security and Administration

Network functions include a firewall and VPN with OpenVPN, IPsec, and WireGuard. The presence of NFC and USB-C facilitates configuration and maintenance operations depending on the application.
