The Teltonika RUT241 is a compact industrial router designed to provide reliable cellular connectivity in professional environments. It combines 4G LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 4, a 10/100 Mbps WAN port, a 10/100 Mbps LAN port, and an eSIM with profile management. Cellular Connectivity and SIM Failover

The RUT241 supports 4G LTE Cat 4 with speeds up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload, as well as 3G and 2G compatibility. It integrates 1 2FF SIM slot and 1 eSIM, with automatic failover functions based on several explicit scenarios from the manufacturer: weak signal, data limit, SMS limit, roaming, no network, rejected network, or data connection failure.

This architecture strengthens service continuity in remote or critical sites, while simplifying deployment thanks to eSIM SGP.22 profile management.

Local Network, Wi-Fi, and Backup Functions

The router features 2 RJ45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, split between 1 WAN and 1 LAN. For wireless connectivity, it operates in 802.11b/g/n with access point and station modes, and supports up to 50 simultaneous connections. It also supports advanced functions such as 802.11r, 802.11k, 802.11v, and 802.11s mesh networking.

For network resilience, the RUT241 offers Failover mechanisms, network backup via Wi-Fi WAN, mobile, VRRP, or wired links, as well as load balancing between multiple WAN connections.

Security, VPN, and Remote Administration

The RUT241 includes a comprehensive set of security functions adapted for professional infrastructures: firewall, NAT, NAT-T, NAT64, DDOS prevention, web filtering, access control, RADIUS authentication, and certificate management. It also supports numerous VPN protocols such as OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, ZeroTier, L2TP, and PPTP.

For operation and maintenance, it is compatible with RMS, SNMP, TR-069, MQTT, JSON-RPC, and a Web API. This rich functionality facilitates integration into supervised architectures and distributed equipment fleets.

Industrial Integration and IoT Applications

The RutOS system, based on OpenWrt, allows for advanced customization and software additions via the package manager. The router supports industrial and IoT protocols such as Modbus TCP, MQTT, OPC UA, DNP3, and DLMS/COSEM, making it suitable for telemetry, technical supervision, and data gateways.

Its compact size, aluminum casing, operating range of -40 °C to 75 °C, and mounting options for DIN rail, wall, or flat surface make it a suitable solution for technical cabinets and industrial installations.
