WSS-21 - RS485 Rain Gauge - Dragino
WSS-01 - RS485 Rain Gauge - Dragino
The Dragino WSS-01 is an RS485 rain gauge designed to measure rainfall in a compatible weather station solution. It allows the addition of rain measurement to a Dragino weather installation or to a system capable of reading RS485 data.
Measurement and Monitoring
The WSS-01 uses a tipping bucket mechanism to measure rainfall. This measurement is useful for tracking local weather conditions, assessing water intake, and powering agricultural, environmental, or Smart City applications.
RS485 Interface
The WSS-01 is an RS485 sensor. It does not transmit directly via LoRaWAN: long-range transmission depends on a compatible transmitter or weather station, such as a Dragino unit connected to the RS485 interface.
Installation and Integration
The rain gauge is designed for outdoor installation. It must be positioned correctly and leveled horizontally to ensure consistent rainfall measurement. It can be integrated into an existing weather station depending on the installation's compatibilities.
Applications
The WSS-01 is suitable for agricultural weather stations, environmental monitoring sites, communities, greenhouses, farms, and projects requiring local rainfall monitoring.
